About 30 minutes drive away there are numerous beaches with great long sandy beaches
- they are easy to access and area fantastic day trip (easy to take buggies /wheel chairs on) as the sand it quite compacted but still fab for making sandcastles.
The area is full of rolling hills and granite farmhouses and offers many great walks and cycle rides. Villedieu itself is famed for the manufacture of copper pots, and there are a number of museums to visit. Champrepus zoo is nearby and Villedieu les Poeles has a swimming pool and other leisure facilities.

This is situated next to a beautiful lake with sanded area, you can walk round the lake. This place has animals (eg goats etc) and a large boules area; definitely worth a visit.
A little further afield, the coast is only half an hours drive away, and the seaside towns of Avranches and Granville are well worth visiting. Coutances and the Abbaye de Hambye are also easy to get to.
For a day out why not visit Mont St. Michel to the south west, or the Normandy landing beaches to the north.
